I feel your pain. Everyone loves Unclebob but nobody loves me. At least you are not getting spammed by a ton of teeny boppers who type in spaz child code.

I think everyone feels that twinge of jealousy. I like the happy medium: a few comments here and there so you know people are appreciating what you have to say (like me!) without any of the trolls. I wouldn't be able to handle the random "URN IDIOT LERN TO TYPE DUMB@SS!" comments.

You took the words right out of my mouth/hands. Though, I must say, I AM starting to build a little following of my own. I've been on Diaryland on and off for a couple of years, I'm a wannabe writer sort of person, and I tend to gloat for hours every time someone adds me to their reading list. I've been spreading by word-of-mouth, but I've often thought about getting GM so that I could lure more readers in with tastelessly catchy banners.

I'm sorry no one comments on your stuff. Your entry has a lot of truth to it - everyone wants to know that someone reads what they write because what we write is valuable to us. Hell, even I want people to read what I write, and I probably write only crap. I hope you find more luck with this.

I think your great.. and everytime I see a new post up, I'm excited to see what you have written. You write like I think, or vice versa. I think something that may help you a bit, is more regularity in your posts. Those who are popular seem to invest quite a bit of time on the computer doing nothing but their blogs. It is at least the impression I take away from reading some of the more popular ones. As for me... I think somedays I feel like the windshield and somedays I'm the bug. So, being on top might be great until I get into with one of the whoseits who know everything. Then I'd get all the wacko's over to my blog cause I would just rip on the critics with no mercy for them. Do what your doing.. you do it very well.

At first I felt the same way, but now I appreciate the few who read my diary because they're the ones who give the best advice ~ the rest just becomes filler. Be-careful what you wish for, popularity tends to zap most of your free time...

My personal preference is to have a very small blog with comments from people I know. I really don't want to have a "big" blog because I like my privacy, too. (HAHA on the web? I know... I know...) Anyway, if you want to get "out there" try joining in at some blogging events like the weekly theme at mamasaysom.com or Love Thursdays at http://loveisallaround.squarespace.com/ and etc. I find that when I post at mamasaysom, I almost always find a new reader. :)
